A LOCAL TEAM WITH AN APPETITE FOR FOOD AND LEARNING

Clarity Consulting Group began in 2014 with an idea to bring the best food and the best people together to bring our favorite tastes and dining experiences to Western Kansas, a place we proudly call home. Philip Kuhn, a certified chef and director of the culinary program at North Central Kansas Technical College, sought ways to bring great food to his home town while educating local communities about new flavors and culinary experiences. Philip created Clarity Consulting Group as a way to achieve these aims, and he recruited his brother Andrew to help consult.  As a literary scholar, author, and educator, Andrew brought his enthusiasm for the culinary arts and a background in design, layout, and digital design.

The Kuhn brothers take inspiration from their grandmothers, both of whom spent their lives in kitchens where the boys developed their love of cooking and the love in cooking. Their grandmother Doris Kuhn spent much of her life in food services preparing food for the school children and elderly in the community as well as feeding her five boys.  On their mother’s side, Neolah Wasinger taught the brothers about how a household kitchen could be the center of a family–in fact the center of an entire world–where meals and treats are made and enjoyed and conversations and relationships are nurtured.

Philip and Andrew combined their passion for food with their experiences in the food and beverage industry and expertise in writing and design.  Clarity Consulting Group believes in a total approach to helping your business succeed by examining your whole operation and crafting custom solutions for your specific challenges.

Meet Our Team

Philip Kuhn
Philip KuhnOwner and Head Chef
He is the Department Chair and Instructor in the Culinary Program at North Central Kansas Technical College. He has also managed a number of restaurants in western Kansas including the Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City where he served as the Food and Beverage Director. The Press, his current restaurant based in Hays, KS, serves handcrafted food with an emphasis on bringing new flavors and experiences to his home town. Philip is also the owner of Clarity Consulting Group, which provides catering, food and beverage consultation, and media solutions for restaurants. He is also ServSafe certified and an instructor and proctor for the certificate program.
Matthew Driscoll
Matthew DriscollFood & Beverage Consultant
Matthew is a graduate of Le Cordon Blu with sixteen years in the restaurant industry. He specializes in helping clients with banquet operations, fine dining, and international cuisine.

Andrew is writer, designer, and educator. He is experienced in web design and content creation to more effectively tell your story.
